Ayer traté brevemente el tema de la Dirección de Fotografía –noolvides compatir la película que te parece visualmente más bonita aquí- y hoy les mostraré mis tres looks de red carpet favoritos.   Desgracidamente el maquillaje en los pasados Golden Globes no fue muy interesante, con las excepciones de Jennifer Lawrence y Amber Heard cuyos looks eran bonitos, los demás me parecieron aburridos con un uso excesivo de pestañas postizas que se veían extremadamente falsas.  ¿Por qué no quedarse con las pestañas naturales y darle mayor realce a la mejor característica del rostro de cada una? –probablemente la única que lo hizo fue Elizabeth Moss. 

I briefly referred to Cinematography yesterday –don’t forget to share the most aesthetical moviein your opinion- and today I will show my current top 3 Red Carpet looks.  Unfortunately, makeup in the latest Golden Globes awards wasn’t impressive, with the exceptions of Jennifer Lawerence and Amber Heard whose makeup was nice, I found it boring with the excessively evident usage of uber unnatural looking false lashes.  Why not staying with your natural lashes and focusing on the best features each actress has –probably just Elizabeth Moss did that.  For that reason, I will be sharing you today my favorite Red Carpet looks from the last two years. 

Favorite No. 1: Camille Belle, Met Gala 2012

Si alguna vez te preguntaste cómo usar labios cafés sin sentirte perdida en los 90’s, aquí está la respuesta.  El look es muy bonito, y pese a que se hizo hace casi dos años, muchas entusiastas del maquillaje aún lo recuerdan –y lo piden durante makeovers, algo que yo de hecho hice.  Es sencillo en los ojos, y presta la mayor atención a sus maravillosas cejas y lindos labios. 

If you ever wondered how to use brown lips without feeling like wearing a 90’s costume, here is the answer.  This look is amazing, and even when it was made almost two years ago, many makeup addicts still remember them –and ask for it during makeovers, I surely did.  It’s simple on eyes, and just focuses her amazing brows and nice lips.

Favorite No. 2: Jessica Biel at Cannes 2013

Simple y elegante, perfecto para maquillaje nupcial –si, y sólo si la boda es durante el día, algo que sucede no muy frecuentemente en México.  Este look resalta la belleza natural de Jessica y permite dar mayor atención a su collar.  Me encantaría poder usar labios nude como ella. 

Simple and elegant, perfect for bridal makeup –if, and only if wedding is during the day, which doesn’t happen that often in Mexico.  This enhances Jessica’s natural beauty and leaves attention to her necklace.  I really wish I could rock nude lips to look like that.

Favorite No. 3: Keira Knightley at Anna Karerina premiere

Ella se ve bien casi todo el tiempo, pero mi look favorito es este simple smokey eyes con un tono natural en los labios.  ¿Por qué? Sencillo, el maquillaje debe servir para resaltar lo que ya es lindo en cada una y no como una máscara detrás de la que podamos escondernos.  Ella tiene unas hermosas cejas y ojos muy expresivos, así que… ¿por qué esconderlos?

She looks great most of the time, but my favorite is this simple smokey eyes with MLBB lips.  Why? Easy, makeup is meant to enhance what’s already pretty in you, not to hide behind it.  She has gorgeous natural full brows and very expressive eyes, why hide them?

Conclusión: El maquillaje sencillo que da mayor énfasis a lo que ya es lindo en cada una siempre será mejor que las caras de payaso. 

Bottomline: Simple makeup that focuses on each one’s best feature will always be better than clownish faces.
