Current lucubrations: breastfeeding public policy, orange lipstick and running... away?

After about a month with no posts, it feels almost like I’ve abandoned this blog. However, the truth is that my life lost a bit of balance during the past weeks and became more RUSHING than Glam… There have been moments lately that I even don’t remember my name. I guess I’m not the only one who goes though those seasons, but fortunately things are now rebalancing and I’m able to write again –I recovered inspiration as well.

One of the things that saved this humble blogger from going totally insane during the last weeks was my new hobby: running. I’ve stated this before several times: I’m a no sporty rather lazy person who really dislikes to sweat. Yet, I’ve found running is fun –at least running on the streets while discovering new places, I still think the running band at the gym equals a hamster in a cage. I’m having a better mood and I’m losing weight, I may even sarcastically consider applying for the second round of Mexico City government’s new campaign and public policy to favor breast-feeding:

#okno I’m just kidding, I have no intention to take part on it. In fact, I really dislike this campaign and among many reasons for that, here are a couple:
  • Breastfeeding in public places is a taboo in Mexican and other societies, women who dare to do it are pointed with the adjectives “indecent” or “shameful”. This is not addressed in the campaign.
  • Even when there’s a labor right for working mothers to breastfeed their children, there are no real facilities in working places for doing it so. This is not addressed in the campaign.
  • Breastfeeding is a choice every women has the right to do, this campaign pretends it’s an obligation.
  • Can someone explain me why would these images inspire me or any other woman to breastfeed my child (whenever I decide to have one)?

I find this is an important issue for all women, so I really encourage you to read further arguments, get more information about this issue and tell the world your opinion. At this link, you’ll find the arguments made by many members of Mujeres CIDE, and organization I’m proudly part of:

Now, back to my successful one month running achievement, I definitely think I deserve a reward for it. A wonderful idea would be a bright orange lipstick, but I’m still can’t decide which one. My choice so far is between two Chanel Rouge Allure: Excentrique and Incandescente. Which one would you choose???

    1. Efectivamente!!!

... About the blogger

I’ve been a beauty junkie before beauty blogs became that popular. I’ve always loved HE makeup, since my mom gave me as a gift my first dior quint and gloss. Many friends and acquaintances asked me for makeup recommendations and sometimes even to do their makeup. So just one day, I decided to share my thoughts and experience by writing a blog.
