More on the 45° technique: the lower wing

Tal vez ya los estoy hartando con esta técnica, pero en verdad que me ha gustado mucho y simplemente no puedo evitar hablar de ella.  Hoy la elucubración será alrededor del largo del rabillo inferior, y ello proviene de un comentario que recibí de la adorable Enkida de Makeup Alley.  Ella me hizo ver que si el rabillo inferior es más largo que el superior, en lugar de un efecto “lifting” logramos que el ojo se vea caído –algo que ninguna de nosotras quiere.  La diferencia puede ser algo sutil, pero aun así perceptible.

I think you’re probably sick of this technique, but I’ve been loving it so much that I just can’t avoid talking (writing) about it.  Today I will be lucubrating with the length of the lower wing, and that comes from a comment I received last week the lovely Enkida from Makeup Alley.  She pointed out that if the lower wing is (or seems) longer than the upper one, instead of a lifting effect you can get a droppy eye effect –which none of us want.  The difference might be very subtle, but still noticeable.

Aquí hay un ejemplo en donde el rabillo inferior es más largo, esto lo hice en una prueba de la paleta Bohemian de Revlon. Usé el pincel angular de Ecotools para este rabillo.

Here’s an example of a longer lower wing, used when I tried this technique with Revlon Bohemian palette.  I used the Ecotools angled eyeliner brush for this one.

Ahora un ejemplo con un rabillo más corto, este es en un FOTD de principios de la semana y usé el pincel #760P de Bdellium Tools –está pensado para la ceja, pero dado que es pequeño me pareció ideal para esto. 

Now an example of a shorter lower wing, in a FOTD done earlier this week using Bdellium tools #760P -it’s meant to be brow brush, but since it’s smaller I thought it would wonderfully work for this purposes.

Creo que esta entrada fue de extrema ñoñez del maquillaje, pero ahora que puedo apreciar la diferencia entre un largo y el otro, definitivamente me quedo con el rabillo inferior corto.

I hope this was not super makeup geeky, but I do see the difference and from now on, I think I’ll be doing a shorter lower wing.
